Obtaining Fur - Guild Wars Forums

Looking at making some armour, and aside from Iron it needs Fur. The two ways i know of obtaining Fur is to buy it from a Rare Material trader, or from the Collector in Ascalon City. Is there any other way of making it? Perhaps crafting it from several different materials?

The two ways you listed are it for fast ways of getting it. This is why fur is never needed in large numbers even for 15k armors.

Expert salvage any hides for a chance don't quote me but it is arround 5 to 1 odds

Farming charr at Nolani Academy mission and outside Fort Ranik will net you tons of charr furs you can trade to the collector. You're a ranger, right? Edge of Extinction and traps at the doors in nolani. Open doors. Rinse & repeat.

Dude, you could always do it the old fashioned way and farm it. In Ascalon you can get drops from the Charr that salvage into fur quite regularly and I've also found that devourers drop stuff that salvages into fur as well.

Funny thing is is that I've been farming this area for hides and I keep getting stupid fur! Three days ago I sold a stack of 250 fur because it was just too overwhelming, went back out farming and now I've got, like, 300 more.

All I want is hides for cryin' out loud!

But if you're in a hurry your only options are to buy it from the material trader or try and trade/buy it from another player.
